Instagrammed
I'm so behind. I don't know where to start on getting caught up. Instagram pics seems like the easiest place to start, so here we go! (Once again, if you follow me on Instagram, I apologize for showing these pics again. Feel free to visit another blog now.) Story time with Alice, complete with picture showing.
Two days after the pic above was snapped, little Alice gained a new brother and sister! Mom and I went to the hospital to see the new babies (Stuart and Anna Charlotte) and we also visited Meghan who was at the hospital on bed rest. Not much longer til she welcomes her own little girl!
We have been to visit the twins several times. They are precious!
Little Miss Thang likes to sit on the dryer while I work on the laundry. She makes sure that I don't slack off!
I took this picture when she first found her toes. She is obsessed with them!
Grabbing the toes has now advanced to sticking them in her mouth.
And she's still obsessed with smiling at that nekkid baby in the mirror.
Anna and I had some fun with Valentine's themed cupcakes.
I soaked up some snuggles with my sweet pea one afternoon. I would've taken a nap too if she hadn't been snoring so loudly...
Give a girl two mats to play on and she'll pick the speck of carpet between them.
She tried so, so hard to charm her Poppy into giving her some spaghetti.
"I'm gonna pop some tags. Only got twenty dollas in my pocket..."
She is always all smiles when I go to get her in the mornings. I love seeing her grins!
Just playing outside after church.
Rockin' her morning milk goatee.
This is what happens when she tries to get between me and my ice cream bar. (And yes, I still ate the piece that fell on her head.)
Big, big girl trying out her new clip on high chair! This was a Christmas present that we're finally getting to start using. So far she loves it! (And her mama loves that the bar stool fits nicely right underneath it.)
Sisters. Anna is getting way too grown up!
Katie Wynn got an awesome package in the mail...a Burberry dress! That same day I bought myself a dress from Walmart. Something about this is not right.
Goodnight moon. One of our favorites.
Walking to the car after church. This girl loves her daddy so much!
My birthday is on Friday! We had an early family celebration last Sunday. I always have extra help with my candles...wouldn't want it any other way! Before we dug into the birthday trifle, we made a quick Bren sandwich.
Seriously thinking about crawling. She can push up on her arms and she can pull her knees up underneath her, but she hasn't done them at the same time yet. Its coming soon though.
We finally have enough hair for a good faux hawk! Love it!
That's officially my last instagram as of right now. Which one's your favorite?
Outtake Wednesday
You know how bloggers do Wordless Wednesday? Well, I'm starting something new. Today is officially Outtake Wednesday, because who doesn't love an outtake photo? Sure, it might not be as catchy a phrase as Wordless Wednesday, but it'll catch on, just you wait. (This will probably be the only time I actually do it since I'm not good at consistently blogging these days, so I'm depending on you guys to make this huge.)
Mostly I just wanted to post these completely unedited, funny (probably only to me) pictures. I think more bloggers should post crappy pictures on their blogs. You know, so I'm not the only one doing it. :)
Here ya go. We tried to do an Easter bunny photoshoot. This is what we got. Cute, right?
Slap to the face.
Slap to the face again. With a squished bunny.
Sweet little kiss on the bunny bootie or face plant? I'll never tell...
Boom. That's a wrap for Outtake Wednesday!
(It's not gonna catch on, is it?)
A New Trick
Katie Wynn has a new trick. Actually, she has several. Most were expected - she's starting to roll over, getting close to sitting up on her own, etc. But THIS one, this one that she mastered yesterday, was one I never saw coming. She started working on it a couple weeks ago. While in her car seat, she loves to lean forward or arch her back so that someone will pick her up and get her out. She must've discovered that when she arches her back several times in a row, she eventually slides down until she's laying on the "seat" part of the car seat, like so:
(Sidenote: obviously this little trick takes place when she's not actually buckled into her carseat...which is maybe when we're hanging out in the kitchen or somewhere and I'm right beside her, and NEVER in the car.)
I had told my mom about this little "slide down in the car seat" trick that she was working on and was thrilled on this particular day when she started doing it again and I had my camera nearby.
So anyway, once down in that position, she would then throw her legs down...
...in an attempt to get those legs out and onto whatever surface her carseat was sitting on. And everytime she aaaaaalllllmost made it before her Mommy scooped her up and scooted her back up in her seat.
Poor thing. After working so hard to get that far, I just put her right back where she started.
Like me, my mom thought the pics of this little talent of hers were pretty funny, but yesterday my mom finally got to see Katie's moves in person! The three of us were all out in the woodshop; Mom and I were taking turns doing some painting and playing with Katie. I set Katie back down in her carseat for a few minutes while we both had a paintbrush in our hands, and off she went...first arching that back til she scooted down and then throwing those legs back and forth, inchin' her way out of the seat. Mom bent down, picked her up, and put her back in her seat, just so she could start the whole process all over again.
The last time she started doing it, I told Mom I'd pick her up as soon as I finished painting this one last thing...
...only to turn around to see that that little stinker had finally gotten all the way out of her seat!
She seemed quite pleased with herself.
Sigh...I guess that's the end of just setting her down in her car seat for a second, at least not without buckling up that five-point harness!
The Day of Looooove
I completely breezed right over Valentine's Day and posted about Lent instead. I didn't mean to skip the day of hearts all together, though. Seeing as how it's Katie Wynn's first Valentine's Day, what kind of mom would I be if I didn't at least post a picture or two? The holiday started for her on the evening before when we checked the mailbox and found it full of red Valentines. There was one from each of us, all mailed with love from Doc's parents. Super sweet! Here's KW and her dad reading her very first Valentine.
The holiday started that night for me, too, when I received a package from ProFlowers.com at the door. I honestly hadn't expected anything from Doc and certainly didn't need anything, but as soon as I saw the box, a part of me secretly hoped they were tulips. And they were! Score one for Doc; he knows the way to my heart. :)
The day itself was just another work day. Katie Wynn spent the day with her babysitter, but she did have on a special outfit! My mom had given her this cute little heart shirt for Christmas and we had been saving it for this holiday. She looked so cute in all her hearts and I'm glad we can wear it all the time now!
That evening, Doc prepared the most delicious meal for us! And, as another gift to me, he photographed his process so that he could guest blog about it! Woo hoo!! So stay tuned...post from him is next. :)
